Sweet little Alaska was recently left at the shelter with her seven siblings and mom Leona. We don’t know anything about the little family prior to arriving at the shelter, but Leona is a fantastic mom and her puppies will be lucky if they grow up like her.
Alaska is estimated to be 3 months old, and will grow to be a medium sized girl of 15-18 kilos. Alaska is a sweetheart, who loves to play with the other pups at the shelter. A friendly little soul, she will be a wonderful addition to most families if she is trained and supported the way a puppy should be.
As with all puppies, Alaska’s future family needs to be ready for sleepless nights, pee and poo everywhere, scratched furniture, chewed shoes, long days of learning to be home alone and of course, training to walk on a lead. Right now, she is very well socialised with other dogs and cats, but more training will be needed to make sure she doesn’t develop bad habits and continues to be a happy and social dog. Her future family also needs to commit to sterilising her as soon as she reaches sexual maturity – we tolerate zero breeding with our dogs and don’t agree with them battling with unnecessary hormones throughout their lives if not sterilised.
