Sweet Alvin is another newcomer at Lemnos shelter. The usual story – we arrived at the shelter early one morning and Alvin was waiting for us, his tail wagging. We know nothing about his history, or what his life was like before that day.

What we do know is that Alvin is an amazing dog with a wonderful character and we can’t imagine how anyone would ever want to give him up! Alvin is approximately one year old and we believe that he is a full-blooded setter. He is slim and weighs circa 15 kilos. It’s hunting season now in Greece, and a terrible time for hunting dogs. So it’s quite likely that Alvin wasn’t the hunting dog his owner wanted him to be. Maybe he was afraid of gunshot, or maybe he got stressed out in the hunting situation. Who knows.

Not only is Alvin a total cuddle monster who just wants us volunteers to snuggle with him at every opportunity, he adores other dogs too.

Alvin would love to live with a very active family, and join them on lots of outdoor adventures. We hope his dream family will see him soon, so his time in the shelter is short!
