About Connie

Connie was a very easy-going arrival at our shelter and estimated to be about 6 years old. As with most of our dogs, we know nothing about her life before she arrived. What we do know is that she is a fantastic girl and we strongly suspect that she is the mother of one of our former residents (Helga, in case any of you remember her – the likeness is uncanny!) and we can’t imagine how anyone could even considering dumping this sweetheart in this way.

Connie is now being fostered in England. She is a very gentle teddy bear who loves nothing more than a fuss and a cuddle. Inside the house she is pretty much the perfect dog. She is obedient, sits and waits for her dinner, rarely barks and knows basic commands such as bed, sit, down, wait and paw. She is also really good when being groomed.

We think she maybe was an outside dog as she’s happiest and most chilled in the garden.

Connie however has found the transition from the shelter to home life a little difficult. She doesn’t cope well outside the house and, even with the help of a trainer, is extremely anxious of the outside world and other dogs.

Connie is 30 kilos and a strong girl. Her ideal family would be experienced with big breeds and live in a quiet home in the countryside, without young children or cats and preferably as an only dog.

Connie’s information:

Age: 6 years old
Breed: Mixed
Sex: Female

I would love a quiet home in the country with a huge garden to call my own and a mum and dad who could show me that the world isn’t such a scary place!
