Hi I’m Jackson

About Jackson

Poor Jackson was recently surrendered to the shelter as his owner didn’t believe he was a skilled enough hunter. True, our experience of this sweetheart is that he doesn’t have an extreme hunting instinct compared to some other of the other hunting dogs at the shelter. But he’s a setter – mix or pure bred, we’re not sure – so he’s bound to have a little hunting instinct. With us, he also doesn’t have an extreme energy level, but we believe he’ll thrive best in an outdoorsy, active family in the countryside.

Jackson is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs 18 kilos. He’s such a gorgeous and goofy guy, friends with both puppies and adult dogs in the shelter. He seems unconcerned about the cats that are here, so it seems quite possible that he can live with a cat with the right introduction. Due to his sweet, gentle nature, it’s likely he can live with kind kids who have been brought up to respect dogs.  As he was an hunting dog in his ‘home’, it is likely that he was only kept outdoors. So he’s going to have to learn how to be a ‘family dog’ – just like a little puppy. But he’s a wonderful dog, and we already have a feeling that this gorgeous guy isn’t going to be waiting too long for a fabulous family!

I’m a big softie and love everyone and everything. I would love to find a special someone who would love to share their home with me.
