Gorgeous Maverick is Calypso’s sidekick and was caught chasing chickens with her recently. The farmer who stopped them couldn’t be mad with the pair for long, and saw that they were social and affectionate dogs, so brought them to us in case they were just lost and a family was looking for them. Needless to say, neither were chipped and no one has come looking for them. But they are very welcome at the shelter and we’ll do our best to find them each a great forever home.

Maverick looks to be a Kurzhaar and is estimated to be 3 years old, weighing circa 20 kilos. As a true hunting breed, he likely has a high prey drive, but he is disinterested in the shelter cats. He is great with other dogs and ADORES people! He could cuddle all day long, so he needs a family with lots of time and affection for him. Maverick is an active boy who needs a family as active as he, and is best suited to a countryside life full of hikes and adventures.

Although Maverick is an adult dog, we don’t know if he ever lived inside a home. So his future family need to start everything as if he was a pup in terms of toilet training and other basic commands. But he a fantastic dog, very eager to please, and we’re certain that his future family are super lucky!
