Sweet Salome was born at the shelter over five years ago. For those of you who have followed us for a long time, you might remember Sia and Sabrina, and their mom Persa. Persa was rescued on the brink of starvation and pregnant. She gave birth to four beautiful puppies at the shelter. All four grew up at the shelter and all shared the same impossibly shy character. Persa was adopted to Sweden as a senior two years ago, and lived a wonderful life there until cancer sent her to heaven.

Sia and Sabrina, although still very shy, were lucky enough to be adopted by an experienced and understanding lady in Scotland. So just two of the original group remain at the shelter, Salome and Debby… still shy, still untouchable… until recently!

Salome has started to approach us, looking for cuddles! We’ve now taught her to walk on a lead, and she loves to explore the countryside outside the shelter on long walks with the volunteers! We’re very proud of Salome’s transformation, and enjoy getting cuddles from our shy, sweet girl. We dream that some day a family with lots of patience and love will see her and give her the chance she deserves!
