Recently our volunteers, Fotini and Vaggelio, were called out to a scene which absolutely broke them.

Twenty dogs were found chained up in the middle of a field in the most unimaginable conditions. They immediately rescued a sweet young girl and named her Vanilla and we think she’s about 2 or 3 years old.

The shelter is no place for any dog but when you’ve been chained for years the shelter must feel like a real sanctuary.

Despite what must’ve been a very traumatic past, Vanilla is extremely gentle and seems to understand that she’s being helped. We believe she would love a quiet calm home in the country with someone who is home most of the day.
