Hobby: Making soulful eye contact until you share the sofa.

Swiffer arrived at the shelter under circumstances that would make anyone lose faith in humanity. He was literally thrown over the shelter fence by the person who had been his family for years.Fortunately, he seems to have decided that holding a grudge is far less interesting than making new friends.

He’s gentle… the “would rather make friends than make trouble” kind of gentle.
He’s sociable… the “everyone is welcome to admire me” kind of sociable.
And he’s handsome… the “big brown eyes, floppy setter ears and a tongue that appears to have its own postcode” kind of handsome.

Swiffer loves people, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and still enjoys getting out and about despite being a senior. Think less “retirement village” and more “active gentleman who still enjoys a weekend adventure.”

Having spent most of his life in a quiet village, he’d prefer a home away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Somewhere with comfy beds, interesting smells, gentle walks and humans who appreciate the finer things in life….like naps, snacks and being adored.

Cats are not on Swiffer’s guest list, and any children in the home should be old enough to understand that distinguished gentlemen deserve a little peace and respect.

Adopting a dog like Swiffer, brings the satisfaction of knowing you’re backing a dog whose greatest achievement is somehow remaining kind, loving and hopeful despite everything life has thrown at him.

Swiffer isn’t looking for much. Just a soft sofa.
A warm home.
A family to call his own.
And perhaps someone willing to tell him every day that he’s still the most handsome setter in the room. (He already knows it. He just enjoys hearing it.)
