Daisy was the gentlest, sweetest, kindest dog, that I’ve ever owned.

It felt as though our Labrador, Daffy, who died the year earlier, had found her for us. She was so like him – a big heart, but in a Cavalier body.

Daisy loved children and children loved her. Her walks always took longer than expected as she liked to stop for a fuss. She was very indignant if children didn’t stop to fuss her and would stop still and give one of her looks until they did!

Daisy looked like a lady but was an absolute tomboy and liked nothing better than rolling in anything smelly. The smellier the better.

Daisy loved long walks and was so well-behaved and pretty much the perfect dog, until she got the scent of chickens. Then her little legs would carry her so fast. She could hunt them from half a mile away.

When I’d finally catch up with her she’d give me that look! Who me? I was just checking out the garden!

Daisy picked up agility and scent work really quickly, and she loved flyball.

When I started to follow my dreams, she welcomed lots of rescue dogs into our home. She never once grumbled , even when she got the odd nip, or when Zeus ate away half the fur from one of her ears.

Daisy, you really were the perfect dog. When you were taken from us so suddenly our hearts were broken.

Every morning I still think of you, remembering how you would creep up to me in bed for your morning cuddle.

I miss you but know you’re still with me because not a day goes by when I don’t feel your presence. Too many amazing things have happened. You know it’s my dream to help more dogs so please keep on trying for us.

We’ve still got so much more to to do to help all those poor doggies left behind.

❤️Love you forever my baby girl❤️
